Weight loss training and nutrition coaching in Tampa

Fat loss comes from eating a bit less than you burn, for long enough, while lifting so the weight you lose is fat and not muscle. The program here is built on that and nothing more complicated. No cleanses, no 30-day transformations.

Who this is for

  • You've lost weight before and it came back
  • Cardio alone hasn't moved the scale
  • You don't know how much you should be eating
  • You want to lose weight without feeling weak or hungry all day
  • Your doctor has suggested losing weight and you want a plan
  • You want someone checking in every week

What's included

Strength training

Two or three sessions a week so the weight you lose is fat and your metabolism doesn't drop with it.

Nutrition habits

Protein targets, portion awareness, meal planning and eating out, built one habit at a time.

Daily activity

A step target that fits your job, which matters more than most people expect.

Weekly check-ins

A written review of the week's data with small adjustments.

Plateau management

What to change when the scale stalls for two or three weeks, and what not to change.

Maintenance phase

Easing calories back up and setting the habits that keep the weight off.

How the program runs

  1. Baseline. Weight, measurements, photos if you want them, a food log for a few days and a first training session.
  2. Plan. Two or three strength sessions a week, a daily step target, and two or three eating habits to work on, not a full diet overhaul.
  3. Weekly check-in. Weight trend, habits, training log. Adjustments are small and based on the data.
  4. Maintain. When you hit the goal, the last phase is learning to hold it, which is the part most programs skip.

What affects the price

  • In-person sessions per week versus online programming.
  • Whether nutrition check-ins are weekly or twice a month.
  • Monthly or quarterly commitment.
  • Any body composition testing you want included.

You get the per-session or monthly price before you commit to anything.

Losing weight in Tampa

Tampa eats out a lot, drinks outdoors a lot, and spends summer in air conditioning. Nutrition coaching here deals with the real calendar: Gasparilla, Lightning games, brunch on Bayshore, and the beach weekends in Clearwater and St. Pete that are supposed to be the payoff. Summer also cuts into walking, so step targets get planned around the heat.

Nutrition coaching is not medical care. If you take medication for blood sugar or blood pressure, have a history of disordered eating or are managing a diagnosed condition, tell the trainer and keep your doctor or a registered dietitian involved.

Common questions

How much weight can I lose in a month?

A sustainable rate is roughly half a percent to one percent of bodyweight a week. Faster usually means losing muscle and gaining it back.

Do I have to count calories?

Not necessarily. Many people do well with protein targets and portion habits. Tracking is a tool used when it helps, not a requirement.

Will I have to give up drinking?

No. You'll learn where alcohol fits in a weekly budget and how to make a weekend not undo the week.

Is this a medical weight loss program?

No. It's training and non-medical nutrition coaching. People on weight loss medication or with health conditions should keep their physician in the loop.
